General information

Network Analyzers (Electrical Network Analyzers) designed to evaluate the impedance or leakage and reflection characteristics of active and passive circuits such as amplifiers, frequency converters, antenna switches, filters, switching devices, attenuators and many other components used in various circuits.

Vector network analyzers (VNA) are the most powerful in their group, as they measure and display the full set of amplitude and phase characteristics of the device. These parameters include: S-parameters, transfer functions, amplitude and phase, standing wave ratio (SWR), insertion loss or gain, attenuation, group delay, return loss, or reflection coefficient. Modern vector analyzers usually allow measurements in the frequency range from 5 kHz to 40 GHz, some models provide an upper range of 70 GHz, and with additional modules the upper range can be extended to 110 GHz and beyond (upper limit 1 100 GHz).

Comparison table

This page details most of the modern vector network analyzer series. Each series has a short description and a photo. The table below shows the same network analyzers, but not by series, but by model. At the same time, for each model, the main technical characteristics are indicated (maximum and minimum frequency, number of ports, dynamic range, and others).

All models of electrical circuit analyzers sorted in the table as they increase maximum frequency. If the maximum frequency is the same, then the cheaper devices are placed first.

If a feature can be improved with options, then the improved value is given in brackets eg: for the Anritsu MS4642B analyzer, the default value for the minimum (lower) frequency is 10 MHz, but with an additional option, this can be improved to 70 kHz. Therefore, in the table, the value of the lower frequency for Anritsu MS4642B is indicated as: 10 MHz (70 kHz).
